Navy Bites - Volume 1
by AJ Noon
Navy Bites Volume 1 contains thirty-two tales from
the Royal Navy, covering the great, the bizarre, and
the tragic. Spanning from 1546 — when the Royal Navy was formed — through to 1993, this book brings to life the events that have shaped the RN. Whether it be the invasion of the Isle of Wight, women disguising themselves as men to serve, stone frigates, ships of ice and sawdust, the longest row, flat-pack ships, bizarre camouflage, the odd re-use of damaged ships, the Gibraltar apes, or nuclear London; this book explains them all.
You may already have heard about some of these fascinating incidents, but Navy Bites reveals the extraordinary details behind them, and their place within the vibrant history of the Royal Navy.

There's something for every history fan, from traditional crosswords, wordsearches, anagrams, and pub-quiz-style brainteasers, to pairing up battles with their dates, naming the parts of a suit of armour, identifying silhouettes, and playing battleships with real battleships!

Navy Notes Collection: The Death of Nelson
by AJ Noon
In 1807, William Beatty published his account of the death of Vice-Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Both to refute other accounts of Nelson's last moments, and in response to criticism from some for his decision to use brandy rather than rum to preserve the body, Beatty's account gives details in the lead-up to the battle, the battle itself, and the autopsy afterwards.
This version of his account has been annotated and indexed by historian AJ Noon, and adds a biography of Beatty, notes on the events before and after the battle, and how the cockpit area of HMS Victory has changed over the years.
There are also notes on the surgeon's toolkit of the time, diseases encountered by the sailors, common treatments, and more.

Navy Notes Collection: The World of Jack Nastyface
by AJ Noon
In 1805, William Robinson volunteered for the Royal Navy, not knowing he would soon be plunged into the fierce action of the Battle of Trafalgar. He later published his account of his time aboard HMS Revenge under the pseudonym Jack Nastyface. Widely regarded as a must read for those interested in the period.
This book not only presents his account, but expands upon it with explanations, illustrations, indexes, and added content. There are transcripts from some of the surviving logs of HMS Revenge, as well as correspondence from officers and men of the ship during the time he served aboard, and information regarding the surgeons toolkit and common ailments.
Explore the world of Jack Nastyface like never before.
